Why does my BMW 5 Series have difficulties starting in cold weather?

I have been experiencing difficulties starting my BMW 5 Series in cold weather. It takes multiple attempts before the engine finally starts up. Is this a common issue with the 5 Series? What could be causing this and is there anything I can do to prevent it?

Cold weather can definitely have an impact on your BMW's starting abilities. One thing to check is the battery. Cold weather can decrease the battery's power, making it harder for your car to start. It might also be worth cleaning the battery terminals to ensure a strong connection. Additionally, checking the fuel system, including the fuel filter and injectors, could also help improve starting in cold weather.

I've had this same issue with my BMW 5 Series. One thing that has helped is using a thinner oil during the colder months. This will make it easier for the engine to turn over in the colder temperatures. You can also try using a synthetic oil as they tend to perform better in cold weather.
