Why is the exhaust on the BMW X8 louder than on other models?

I recently purchased a BMW X8 and noticed that the exhaust sound is much louder than on other BMW models. Is this normal?

I have also noticed this with my BMW X8. I spoke with my dealership and they explained that it is due to the design of the exhaust system and that it is completely normal.
