Why is the acceleration of the BMW i5 limited?

I recently test drove a BMW i5 and noticed that the acceleration was limited. What is the reason for this and is there a way to increase it?

The BMW i5 has a built-in safety feature that limits the acceleration to maintain control and prevent accidents. If you want to increase the acceleration, you can use the sport mode which will override this limit.
