The clicking noise could be indicative of a worn out CV joint. This is a serious issue that should be addressed immediately. It is recommended to bring your vehicle to a certified mechanic for inspection and possible replacement of the CV joint.

It is possible that the clicking noise is coming from a loose strut mount or strut assembly. This can also be a serious issue and should be checked by a professional. It is not recommended to continue driving your BMW Z4 until the issue is resolved.

It could also be a simple issue such as a loose or worn out steering linkage or tie rod end. This would not necessarily be a serious issue, but it is still important to have it checked and fixed to prevent further damage to your vehicle.
