Why does the steering wheel on my BMW i5 vibrate at high speeds?

I recently bought a used BMW i5 and have noticed that the steering wheel tends to vibrate when I reach speeds above 60 mph. Is this a common issue with BMW i5s and is there a way to fix it?

Hi Sarah, thank you for reaching out. Vibrations in the steering wheel at high speeds could be due to several reasons such as unbalanced or worn out tires, wheel alignment issues, or problems with the suspension. It is best to take your BMW i5 to a certified mechanic for a thorough inspection to determine the root cause of the vibration. Once the issue is identified, the mechanic will be able to advise you on the best course of action to fix it. I hope this helps!

Hi Sarah, congratulations on your BMW i5 purchase! Vibrations in the steering wheel can be frustrating, but don't worry, it can be easily fixed. The most likely cause is an unbalanced tire. Make sure to have your tires balanced and rotated regularly to avoid this issue. If the problem persists, then it could be a more serious issue such as worn out suspension components. It's always best to have a professional mechanic take a look to diagnose and fix the issue. Best of luck!
