Why Does My BMW 1 Series Make a Whining Noise When Turning?

I have a BMW 1 Series and recently noticed a loud whining noise whenever I turn the wheel. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It sounds like you may have a problem with your power steering pump. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic and having them check it out. If it is indeed the power steering pump, it will need to be replaced to prevent further damage.
