I recently noticed a ticking sound coming from my BWM engine. It seems to only occur when the engine is cold. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
ReplyIt is possible that the ticking sound is coming from a loose valve. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic to have it checked and tightened if necessary.
Another potential cause could be low oil levels. Check your oil level and if it is low, top it off and see if the ticking sound goes away. If not, then it may be a more serious issue and I recommend taking it to a mechanic.
If your BWM is equipped with a turbocharged engine, the ticking sound could be caused by a loose wastegate actuator. This can usually be fixed by tightening or replacing the actuator.
