Why is my BMW X5's engine light on?

My BMW X5's engine light has recently turned on and I'm not sure why. I've checked the oil and coolant levels and they seem to be fine. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Sarah, thanks for reaching out! The check engine light turning on could be an indication of a minor issue or a more serious problem with your vehicle. It's best to take your car to a certified BMW mechanic as soon as possible to get it properly diagnosed and fixed.

Hello Sarah! I had a similar issue with my BMW X5 and it turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor. It's a common problem with these vehicles, so that could be something to look into. Make sure to take your car to a reputable mechanic to get it checked out.

Hey Sarah, I had the same problem with my BMW X5 and it ended up being a loose gas cap. Sometimes something as simple as that can trigger the check engine light. Try tightening your gas cap and see if that helps.
