Why is my BMW 8 Series engine making a rattling noise?

I recently purchased a BMW 8 Series and have noticed that my engine is making a strange rattling noise. It seems to be coming from the front of the car. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

First, check your oil level and make sure it is at the correct level. Low oil can sometimes cause rattling noises in the engine.
