Why is my BMW 6 Series making a strange noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I recently purchased a BMW 6 Series and I've noticed that when I turn the steering wheel, there is a strange noise coming from the car. It almost sounds like a squeaking or grinding sound. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It's likely that the power steering fluid in your BMW 6 Series is low or needs to be changed. This can cause a noise when turning the steering wheel. Check your owner's manual for the proper procedure to check and change the fluid.

The noise could also be due to a worn out steering belt. This can happen over time and may need to be replaced. Take your car to a trusted mechanic to have them inspect and potentially replace the belt if needed.
