Why does my BMW X6 make a high-pitched noise when accelerating?

I've noticed that when I accelerate in my BMW X6, especially at higher speeds, there is a high-pitched noise that comes from the engine. It's not extremely loud, but it's definitely noticeable. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

It's possible that the noise is coming from a loose belt or a faulty pulley in your engine. These components are responsible for powering the various systems in your vehicle, so it's important to have them checked and replaced if necessary.

Another potential cause could be a problem with your engine's timing chain. This is a crucial component for the proper functioning of your engine, so any issues should be addressed promptly by a certified mechanic.

If the noise only occurs when you accelerate, it could be a sign of a worn transmission. You should have a mechanic inspect your transmission to determine if any repairs or replacements are needed.
