Why does my BMW X4 make a ticking sound while idling?

I recently bought a used BMW X4 and I noticed that when it is idling, it makes a subtle ticking sound. It doesn't seem to affect the performance of the car, but I am curious to know what could be causing it. Any advice?

This ticking sound could be coming from a variety of sources, but the most common culprit is usually a problem with the valve train. It could be due to worn out valve lifters or a loose rocker arm. I recommend taking your car to a reputable mechanic to have it checked out.
