Why does my BMW X3 make a loud noise when I apply the brakes?

Recently, whenever I apply the brakes on my BMW X3, there is a loud noise coming from the brakes. It sounds like a grinding or scraping noise. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

This loud noise when applying the brakes could be a sign of worn brake pads or rotors. Have you noticed any changes in your braking performance? If so, it is important to get your brakes checked by a certified mechanic as soon as possible. Neglecting brake issues can lead to more expensive repairs and potential safety hazards.

I had the same issue with my BMW X3 and it turned out to be a warped rotor. This can be caused by heavy braking or driving on hilly terrain. It's important to get this fixed right away as continued use can cause further damage to your brakes and potentially affect your overall driving experience. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic to get the rotor replaced.
