Why does my BMW X1's fuel economy seem lower than expected?

I just bought a new BMW X1 and I noticed that the fuel economy is not as good as I was expecting. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my car? Are there any tips to improve fuel efficiency?

It is normal for a new car to have lower fuel economy than expected as the engine needs to break-in. However, if you continue to experience low fuel efficiency, it could be due to your driving habits or potential issues with the car. To improve fuel efficiency, try to avoid sudden accelerations and maintain a steady speed while driving. Also, make sure your tires are properly inflated and your air filter is clean.

I had a similar experience with my BMW X1 and it turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor. I would suggest getting your car checked by a mechanic to see if there are any underlying issues affecting fuel economy.

In addition to maintaining good driving habits and getting your car checked, using premium fuel can also improve fuel efficiency in BMW vehicles.
