Why does my BMW X1 keep stalling?

I recently bought a used BMW X1 and I've noticed that it stalls frequently. It happens when I'm at traffic lights or when I'm slowing down to make a turn. Any advice on what could be causing this issue?

Hi Michelle, congratulations on your new BMW X1! From what you've described, it sounds like your car may have an issue with the idle control valve or the idle air control valve. These components are responsible for regulating the idle speed of your engine. It's best to have them checked and potentially replaced by a certified mechanic to prevent any further stalling.

Hi Michelle, I had a similar problem with my BMW X1 and it turned out to be a faulty crankshaft position sensor. This sensor measures the speed and position of the crankshaft and sends that information to the engine control module. A faulty sensor can cause stalling or difficulty starting the engine. I suggest having it checked and replaced if necessary.
