I just purchased a used BMW M9 and noticed that the engine revs abnormally high when idling. Is this normal or is there potentially an issue with the engine?
ReplyThe high revving could be caused by a few different factors. First, check your throttle body and make sure there isn't any buildup or debris causing it to stick open. Also, check for any vacuum leaks as this can also cause high idle. If those are not the issue, it could be a faulty idle control valve. I recommend bringing your car to a mechanic for further inspection and diagnosis.
