Why does my BMW M4 make a ticking sound when I start it?

Every time I start my BMW M4, it makes a noticeable ticking sound. Is this normal or is there something I should be concerned about?

The ticking sound you are hearing is most likely the fuel injectors. This is a normal sound that most BMW M4 owners experience. However, if the sound is also accompanied by rough idling or a decrease in performance, it may be worth having it checked by a mechanic.

I also have a BMW M4 and experience the same ticking sound when starting the engine. I've done some research and it seems to be a characteristic of the S55 engine in the M4. As long as you are not experiencing any other issues, there is no need to worry.

My husband is a mechanic and he says the ticking sound is normal, especially in high-performance engines like the one in the BMW M4. However, if you are still concerned, it's always best to have it checked out by a professional.
