Why does my BMW i8 have a shorter driving range than advertised?

I recently purchased a BMW i8 and was surprised to find that its driving range is significantly shorter than what was advertised by the manufacturer. I made sure to follow all the recommended driving practices, but my range still falls well below the advertised range. What could be causing this issue and how can I improve my car's range?

There are a couple of factors that could be contributing to your lower driving range. One possibility is that your driving habits might be different from the standard driving conditions that were used to determine the advertised range. Another factor could be the state of your car's battery. If it's older or has been heavily used, it may not hold as much charge as a brand new battery. To improve your range, try to drive more efficiently and consider getting your car's battery checked.

It's also important to keep in mind that the advertised range is based on ideal driving conditions and may not always be indicative of real-world driving scenarios. Factors such as weather, terrain, and even traffic can affect your car's range. My advice would be to track your driving habits and see if there are any ways you can adjust them to improve your range. You can also consult with your BMW dealership to see if they have any tips specific to your car model.
