What is the recommended oil type for the BMW M3?

I recently purchased a BMW M3 and I'm wondering which type of oil is best for the car's engine. Can anyone recommend a specific type and brand of oil that works well with the M3? Also, are there any particular precautions I should take when changing the oil in the M3?

For optimal performance, it is recommended to use the BMW TwinPower Turbo Longlife-12 FE oil in the M3. Other high quality synthetic oils like Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge can also work well. When changing the oil, make sure to use a genuine BMW oil filter and follow the manufacturer's recommended oil change intervals.

I've been using the BMW Original Engine Oil 5W-30 for my BMW M3 and it has been working great so far. Just make sure to stick to the recommended oil change intervals and check the oil level regularly.

I have found that using a high performance oil like Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 has improved the overall engine performance of my BMW M3. It may be more expensive, but the added benefits are worth it in the long run.
