What is the difference between the BMW X8 xDrive40i and the xDrive M50i?

I'm trying to decide between the BMW X8 xDrive40i and the xDrive M50i. Can someone help explain the technical differences between the two models and which one would be a better fit for my driving needs? Thank you!

Hi Amanda, the main difference between the X8 xDrive40i and the xDrive M50i is their engines. The xDrive40i has a 3.0-liter inline-six engine with 335 horsepower, while the xDrive M50i has a beefier 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 523 horsepower. If you're looking for a more powerful and sporty driving experience, the xDrive M50i would be a better fit for you.

Hi Amanda, in addition to the engine, the xDrive M50i also comes with more standard features such as M Sport brakes and exhaust, adaptive suspension, and a sport-tuned transmission. These features may not be essential for daily driving, so if you're mainly using the vehicle for commuting or running errands, the xDrive40i may be a more practical option.

Hello Amanda, it ultimately depends on your budget and driving preferences. If you have the extra funds and enjoy a more aggressive driving experience, I would recommend the xDrive M50i. But if you're looking for a balance of power and practicality, the xDrive40i may be the better choice. Before making a decision, be sure to test drive both models and see which one feels best to you.
