What is the difference between the BMW M1 and the BMW M1 Procar?

I am considering buying a BMW M1, but I noticed that there are different versions available - the regular M1 and the Procar version. Can someone explain the technical differences between the two and which one would be a better choice for me?

The BMW M1 Procar was a racing version of the regular M1, designed for the one-make Procar Championship. It had a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, and a stripped-down interior for weight reduction. Unless you plan on racing competitively, the regular M1 would be a more practical and enjoyable choice for daily driving.

The Procar version was also built in limited numbers (around 40 in total), making it more rare and potentially more valuable in the future. However, it also means that maintenance and repairs could be more expensive due to the limited availability of parts. Keep this in mind when making your decision.

In terms of performance, the Procar version had a top speed of 190 mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, while the regular M1 had a top speed of 162 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds. If raw speed and power are important to you, then the Procar version would be the better choice.
