What does the Adaptive Cruise Control do in a BMW X1?

I'm considering purchasing a BMW X1, but I'm not sure what the Adaptive Cruise Control feature is for. Can you explain it to me and tell me if it's worth the extra cost?

As someone who frequently uses Adaptive Cruise Control in my own BMW X1, I can tell you it's a game changer. This feature uses radar sensors to automatically maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you, making highway driving less stressful and more enjoyable. I highly recommend it if you do a lot of highway driving or often get stuck in stop-and-go traffic.

I've never used Adaptive Cruise Control in my BMW X1 and I don't really see the point. You should just learn how to drive properly and maintain a safe distance from other cars on your own. Plus, it's just an extra expense.
