I recently purchased a BMW M2 and was wondering how often I should change the oil and filter. I've heard mixed recommendations, so I'm not sure what the optimal interval is. Can anyone provide some guidance?

For optimal performance, BMW recommends changing the oil and filter every 10,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.

I personally change my BMW M2's oil and filter every 5,000 miles, as I want to ensure the engine stays in top condition. It's a bit more frequent than the manufacturer's recommendation, but it gives me peace of mind.
