I am considering purchasing a BMW M5 and I want to know what are the main technical differences in terms of performance between the standard M5 and the M5 Competition. Is it worth the extra cost for the Competition model or is the standard M5 already powerful enough?
ReplyThe BMW M5 Competition has a more powerful engine, producing 617 horsepower compared to the standard M5's 600 horsepower. This results in a slightly quicker 0-60 mph time of 3.1 seconds for the Competition model.
In addition to the increased horsepower, the M5 Competition also has a stiffer suspension and upgraded brakes for improved handling and performance. If you plan on taking your M5 to the track, the extra cost for the Competition model may be worth it.
If you primarily plan on using your M5 for daily driving, the standard M5 may be sufficient for your needs. It still offers impressive performance and the difference in acceleration times is minimal in everyday situations.
