ReplyThe BMW M1 E26 was the original model produced from 1978-1981 and was designed for racing. On the other hand, the M1 E82 was released in 2011 as a limited edition tribute to the original M1 and was designed for road use.
In terms of design, the E26 had a 3.5 L 6-cylinder mid-engine, whereas the E82 has a 4.0 L V8 engine. This results in a difference in power and torque, with the E82 having a higher top speed and faster acceleration.
