Is the range extender worth it in the BMW i3?

I am considering purchasing a BMW i3 with a range extender, but I am not sure if it's worth the extra cost. Can anyone offer some insight on whether the range extender is beneficial in real-world driving scenarios?

In my experience, the range extender has been extremely valuable in extending the range of my BMW i3. I highly recommend it.

I personally haven't found the range extender to be necessary. I rarely use it and it adds unnecessary weight to the car.
