How to troubleshoot my BMW's engine oil warning light?

I just recently bought a used BMW and the engine oil warning light keeps coming on. I checked the oil level and it seems to be fine, but the light still won't go off. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

One possible reason for the engine oil warning light to come on even when the oil level seems fine is a malfunctioning oil sensor. It could be sending false signals to the dashboard, indicating that the oil level is low when it's not. I suggest getting the sensor checked by a mechanic and replaced if necessary.
