I recently purchased a used BMW 5 Series and the service indicator light keeps appearing. I have tried following the owner's manual but it doesn't seem to work. How can I reset the service indicator?
ReplyHi Trevor, resetting the service indicator on a BMW 5 Series can be a bit tricky. First, make sure the ignition is off and the odometer display shows the total mileage traveled. Then, press and hold the odometer reset button and turn the ignition to accessory mode. Keep holding the button until the display shows 'reset' and then release the button. Use the button to select the desired service indicator to reset and press and hold again until it shows 'end sia'. Turn off the ignition and you should be good to go. Let me know if this works for you!
Hey Trevor, another way to reset the service indicator is to use the iDrive menu. Go to 'Vehicle Settings' and then 'Service Required'. Select the service you want to reset and press 'Reset'. Confirm by pressing 'Yes' and the indicator should be reset. This method may not work for all BMW 5 Series models, but it's worth a try. Hope this helps!
