I just got my oil changed in my BMW XM, but the oil change indicator is still on. How do I reset it?
Reply1. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
2. Press and hold the trip odometer reset button until the first service job is shown.
3. Release the button, then press and hold it again until the words "Reset" or "Re" flashes.
4. Release the button, and then briefly press it again.
5. The next service type will be displayed, release the button, and press it again briefly.
6. Keep repeating this process until "End SIA" appears.
7. Release the button, and press and hold it for another five seconds until "Reset" or "Re" appears.
8. Your oil change indicator should now be reset.
If the above steps do not work, you can also try turning the key to the accessory position and then back to the off position for three times within ten seconds. This should reset the oil change indicator.
