How often should I change the brake fluid in my BMW 1 Series?

I recently bought a used BMW 1 Series and I'm not sure when the brake fluid was last changed. How often do BMW recommends changing the brake fluid and what should I look out for if it needs to be changed? Thanks.

BMW recommends changing the brake fluid every 2 years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, if you frequently drive in heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions, it might be necessary to change it more often.
