How do I turn on the BMW iX's brake energy regeneration feature?

I've heard that the BMW iX has a feature that helps conserve energy while braking, but I can't seem to figure out how to turn it on. Can someone walk me through the steps?

Hi John, turning on the brake energy regeneration feature on the BMW iX is actually quite simple. First, make sure you are in the 'Efficient' driving mode. Then, when you are driving, simply press down on the brake pedal gradually and hold it for a few seconds. You should see the energy recovery indicator on the dashboard light up, indicating that the feature is active.

Hey John, another way to activate the brake energy regeneration feature is to use the 'B' mode on the gear selector. When in 'B' mode, the car will automatically engage the feature whenever you are coasting or braking. Just make sure to switch back to 'D' mode when you want to accelerate again.

Hi there, in addition to the methods mentioned by David and Emma, you can also use the iDrive system to turn on the brake energy regeneration feature. Simply navigate to the 'Driving Experience Control' menu, select 'Efficient' mode, and then click on the 'Brake energy recuperation' option. Make sure it is set to 'Medium' or 'Maximum' for the most efficient use of the feature.
