How do I reset the service warning light on my BMW X5?

I have a 2018 BMW X5 and the service warning light has been on for a few weeks now. I have tried resetting it by pressing the odometer button but it's not working. Any tips on how to fix this issue?

Hi Alexandra, I had the same issue with my BMW X5. Here's what you can try: turn off the ignition and press and hold the odometer button. While holding the button, turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. Keep holding the button until the service warning light starts flashing and then release the button. The service warning light should be reset. Hope this helps!

Hey Alexandra, I had the same problem and talked to my mechanic about it. They said that sometimes the odometer button doesn't work and you have to use the trip odometer button instead. Try holding that button down while turning on the ignition and see if it works. Good luck!
