How do I reset the oil change warning light on my BMW 1 Series?

I recently changed the oil on my BMW 1 Series and now the oil change warning light won't turn off. How do I reset it?

Hi Samantha, to reset the oil change warning light on your BMW 1 Series, follow these steps: 1) Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine. 2) Press and hold the odometer button until the reset message appears. 3) Release the button and then press and hold it again until the reset message starts to flash. 4) Release the button again and the reset message will be completed.
