How do I reset the oil change light in my BMW X1?

My BMW X1 keeps showing an oil change warning, but I recently changed the oil. Is there a way to reset the warning without going to the dealership?

Yes, there is a simple process to reset the oil change light in your BMW X1. First, insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the 'on' position without starting the car. Then, press and hold the odometer reset button for 10 seconds until the symbol disappears. You may need to repeat this process a few times if it doesn't work the first time.

I had this same issue with my BMW X1 and was able to reset the oil change light using the iDrive system. Navigate to the 'Vehicle Status' menu and select 'Service required'. From there, you can reset the service interval and the oil change warning will disappear.
