I recently purchased a used BMW X1 and the maintenance reminder keeps popping up, even after I've gotten my oil changed. How can I reset it and make sure it doesn't pop up unnecessarily?
ReplyTo reset the maintenance reminder, follow these steps: 1) turn on the ignition without starting the engine, 2) use the left/right arrow buttons on the steering wheel to scroll to 'Service Info', 3) push and hold the BC button on the end of the turn signal stalk until the service menu appears, 4) use the left/right arrow buttons to scroll to 'Reset', 5) push BC button to confirm reset, 6) select 'Reset SIA' and push BC button again. As for avoiding unnecessary reminders, please make sure to keep track of your service history and follow your vehicle's recommended maintenance schedule.
