How do I reset my BMW XM's Oil Service Indicator?

I recently got an Oil Service Indicator on my BMW XM. How do I reset this indicator without visiting a dealership?

- Press and hold the odometer reset button for approximately 10 seconds while the key is in the ignition and the engine is off.
- A new menu will appear on your instrument cluster. Use the button on the left side of the steering wheel to navigate to the Service portion of the menu.
- Once in the Service menu, use the button on the right side of the steering wheel to select the 'Reset' option.
- Press and hold the button on the left side of the steering wheel until the indicator resets and shows a new date for your next oil service.
- Release the button and turn off the ignition.
