How do I replace the battery in my BMW X3?

I've noticed that my BMW X3's battery is getting weaker and I think it's time to replace it. How do I do this? Should I take it to a mechanic or is it something I can do myself?

Replacing the battery in your BMW X3 is a relatively simple task that you can do yourself. First, locate the battery under the hood and make sure the car is turned off. Using a wrench, remove the negative cable from the battery terminal followed by the positive cable. Next, remove the battery hold-down clamp and lift out the old battery. Place the new battery in the same position and secure it with the clamp. Finally, reconnect the positive cable followed by the negative cable.
