To check the oil level on a BMW 1 Series, first park the car on a level surface and wait for the engine to cool down. Then locate the dipstick, which is usually a brightly colored handle near the engine. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, and then reinsert it into the dipstick tube. Pull it out again and check the oil level on the dipstick. If it is below the minimum mark, you will need to add more oil.
