How do I check the engine coolant level on my BMW XM?

I recently purchased a BMW XM and I want to make sure I am properly maintaining it. How can I check the engine coolant level and what should I do if it is low?

To check the engine coolant level on your BMW XM, open the hood of your car and locate the coolant reservoir. The reservoir will have a minimum and maximum level marking, make sure the coolant level is between these marks.

If the coolant level is low, you can add more by opening the lid of the coolant reservoir and pouring in a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water until the level reaches the maximum mark.
