How can I reset the service indicator on my BMW X5?

I recently performed an oil change on my BMW X5, and now the service indicator is still on. How can I reset it so it reflects the new service interval?

You can reset the service indicator by following these steps: 1. Turn the ignition to the 'on' position (without starting the engine). 2. Press and hold the odometer reset button until the service interval is displayed. 3. Release the button and then immediately press and hold it again until 'Reset?' is displayed. 4. Release the button once more and then press it again to confirm the reset. The service interval should now be updated and the indicator should turn off.

Another way to reset the service indicator is by using a diagnostic tool, such as a BMW scan tool or auto diagnostic code reader. These tools can be useful for performing other maintenance tasks on your car as well.
