How can I reset the iDrive in my BMW XM?

I'm having trouble connecting my phone to the iDrive system in my BMW XM. How can I reset the system to try and fix this issue?

If the previous method doesn't work, you can also try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This will also reset the iDrive system.

You can reset the iDrive system in your BMW XM by holding down the iDrive knob for 20 seconds and then releasing it. This will reboot the system and hopefully fix any connectivity issues you are experiencing.
