Disabling the Auto Start-Stop feature in BMW 5 Series

I've noticed that the Auto Start-Stop feature in my BMW 5 Series is causing the engine to frequently restart, which is both noisy and irritating. Is there a way to permanently disable this feature without affecting other systems in the car?

Yes, there is a way to disable the Auto Start-Stop feature in your BMW 5 Series. You will need to go into the iDrive settings and navigate to the Vehicle tab. From there, select ‘Auto Start-Stop’ and then choose ‘Off’. This will permanently turn off the feature, but it may also affect other systems in your car such as the climate control. So, be sure to test it out and see if it works for you!

To disable the Auto Start-Stop feature, you can also use the engine switch button located next to the gear lever. You will need to press and hold the button for a few seconds until the Auto Start-Stop light turns off. Keep in mind that this only disables the feature temporarily and it will turn back on when you start the car again.

I highly recommend keeping the Auto Start-Stop feature on, as it helps save fuel and reduce emissions. However, if you still want to disable it, you can do so by using a coding tool or going to a BMW dealership. They can reprogram the car's computer system to permanently disable the feature without affecting other systems in the car.
